Dr. Hal Tinberg describes how a single misdirection can derail a murder investigation.

From 1993 - 2003, three Serial Killers terrorized Southwest Louisiana, with the most notorious being the Baton Rouge Serial Killer. The investigation took several wrong turns until a skilled technologist and a new forensic DNA technology provided a crucial clue to the identity of the individual responsible.
