Event Details
Art historian Jeff Mishur will discuss art in the Vatican Museums including works by Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Caravaggio and will examine objects from the Early Christian, Renaissance, and Baroque periods that serve as connections to Church history. He will also focus on iconography and patronage. Objects to be discussed include Leonardo’s Saint Jerome, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Ceiling, Raphael’s School of Athens, and Caravaggio’s Deposition.
