Program Description

Event Details

Former Chicago Tribune foreign correspondent and editor Michael Lev will talk about his career in journalism, and how a changing news business impacts so much of our world today. The rise of social media and shift to digital news has brought utter disruption — and some destruction — to the newspaper industry. There’s both good and bad to that story. At the same time, and not coincidentally, there has been a loss of trust in the news media.  Michael will talk about the issues and reflect a bit on his career as a correspondent based in Tokyo and Beijing who also covered the war on terror in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
