Event Details
Learn the true story of a little-known US Navy program that recruited and trained 15,000 aircraft carrier pilots on Lake Michigan, just off Chicago's shores, in response to the attack on Pearl Harbor. As a result of the Midwest's challenging wind and weather, as well the inexperience of some of the pilots, more than 100 WWII fighter planes went to the bottom of Lake Michigan. Join us for a 45-minute screening of this documentary that follows the recovery and restoration of three of these rare warbirds, followed by a Q&A with multi-Emmy Award winning producer and editor Harvey Moshman.
