Event Details

Join historical storyteller Lynn Rymarz to hear the fascinating story of  beautiful actress, scientist and inventor Hedy Lamarr. After escaping an unhappy marriage in Austria, she was introduced to Louise B. Mayer of MGM Studios and was soon whisked to Hollywood, where she intrigued audiences on the big screen in movies such as Samson and Delilah. Howard Hughes recognized Lamarr's inventive scientific mind and encouraged her to experiment. She went on to develop the frequency hopping communications system that is credited as the predecessor to WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth.
