Program Description

Event Details

Forest bathing is based on the Japanese practice of "shinrin-yoku," which is a form of therapeutic relaxation. This slow-paced walk will have opportunities for meditation, self-reflection, and activation of all five senses with Gayle Byck, a certified forest therapy guide.

There are many health benefits of forest bathing, including decreased stress, lower blood pressure and heart rate, an immunity boost, and more - basically, increased well-being! Forest bathing is for anyone interested in reducing stress, connecting with nature, connecting with others. It’s for all fitness levels and ages. In other words, it’s for YOU!

Please meet us in Forest Way Grove in the Skokie Lagoons. We will gather near the sign for Forest Way Grove, on the west side of Forest Way Drive, south of Elder Court near the picnic area.
