OVERVIEW
Under general direction from the Youth Services Manager, is responsible for providing reference, reader’s advisory, programming, and outreach primarily for patrons ages 0-18, as well as managing and promoting the library’s physical and digital collections.
Essential Duties
- Builds relationships with youth patrons that assists with providing reference and readers’ advisory services
- Develops, presents, facilitates, and evaluates effectiveness of youth programs
- Builds relationships with community members and organizations and conducts outreach to promote the library’s collections, programs, and services
- Uses professional literature and resources to curate and maintain a responsive and balanced library collection based on community input and professional tenets
- Creates and maintains displays that promote and highlight library collections
- Provides input on and supports the library’s strategic plan and departmental goals
- Interprets and explains department and library policies and procedures to public
- Acts as Person-In-Charge (PIC)
- Engages in professional development activities to stay current with trends and best practices
- Other duties as assigned
